TMR — Truck mounted rig. Basically, this was meant for making bore wells. They use casings upto stable strata and use water, pumped under pressure through extensionable (mostly threaded) pipes or air lifting, to lift out the muck. Or go in for DMC, using a short casing. This is suitable for small diameter bores. The boring mud/water along with muck can be led into settling tanks/pits and reused.
The cutter was modified to an auger or bars fixed from a central hole to an outer circular thick flat. Cutting teeths are fixed to this contraption to cut into and agitate soft to hard strata. DMC is used for lifting out the muck. Now a days, tractors are used in lieu of trucks. Useful for small diameter and short piles. The boring mud can be reused after settling of muck.
